Subject ANN: JayBird Wiki
Author Roman Rokytskyy
Hi,

On behalf of JayBird team I would like to announce a new information
resource: http://jaybirdwiki.firebirdsql.org

Main reason for chosing a Wiki form is that we want this community to
share any available information related in different ways to JayBird,
Java and/or Firebird in an easy way. We believe that with your active
participation we can create a really useful resource that would be
very helpful for all categories of developers: from beginners to
experienced people. Currently it contains information that is already
available from quite known sources (release notes, FAQ, etc), but we
believe that with your help we will make it really unique information
resource.

All you are invited to create new Wiki pages in "SandBox" section and
as soon as you will be ready, send an email to webmaster (currently
webmaster@...) or just post a message here and we will move
your page from SandBox to main area. We need any information:
configuration examples for different web- and application servers,
"gotchas", tips and tricks, success stories using JayBird with
different persistence layers (Hibernate, OJB, TJDO, etc), performance
information, etc. Do not be afraid to publish the information that
seems to be trivial for you, it might save hours of work for other people.

Anybody has write access to SandBox section. If you are new to a Wiki
concept, please read Help section (link you will find on each page in
the page menu). Before creating a page, please fill UserOptions (at
least your nickname) so that we have a person behind the information
(but if you want to remain anonymous, feel free to do it). In order to
delete page, you have to delete its content first and ensure that no
page is linked with it.

Currently write access to main sections have three persons: Rick
Fincher, Roman Rokytskyy, and Ryan Baldwin. However any person willing
to contribute on a regular basis will get write permissions, just ask.

Best regards,
Roman Rokytskyy
