I'm starting to consider using firebird as a database
using hibernate+spring as middleware, and
PoseidonUML+androMDA as design/code gen tools;
target platform is MS windows, both stand alone (server+client
on the same machine) and networked; prog language is JAVA
1. FB looks quite attactive to me since I heard it has two
op modes: one suitable for single user/single computer
use (most of my cust.) which accesses database
via direct filesystem calls (very fast?);
the second suitable for client server accesse in
a networked environment (TCP/IP)
Is this info correct?
2. I'm quite new with FB so i'd like to get some hints.
Is there anybody out there using fb+hibernate+spring?
are there any gotchas I have to be aware of?
sorry for the long post, thnaks all
