i just tested the RC1 release of JayBird. congratulations to everyone who
worked on it, it's a great driver. i've tested the beta1 before but it
didn't work for me, so i kept using interclient. the RC1 was a drop-in
replacement. it worked perfectly without changes in my program! one feature
that i've missed in interclient for so long is also finally there: setting
of the charset in the connection string.
at the moment i only use the jdbc part of the driver, in the future i plan
to combine it with jboss.
congratulation also goes to the writers of the documentation. it is very
detailed, with very helpful examples!
i think i'll never look back to interclient/interserver.
