OK, give me a couple of days and I'll post a first draft on this list.
Everybody can throw in their two cents or even contribute a paragraph or two
on something that they know and I'll put it all together.
One comment: We need to give this thing a name. "The Driver" or the
Firebird JCA/JDBC driver for Java are inadequate or two cumbersome. When we
used to talk about Interclient, everybody knew what we meant. We need a
one-word name for this driver. Maybe Firebird-J, J-Fire, InterFire or
something like that.
Let me start by throwing out a proposed table of contents and get
everybody's comments.
1. Introduction
2. Where to get the driver
3. Installing the driver
4. Connection Pooling
5. Using the Driver in Java code
6. Using the Driver with JBoss
7. Using the Driver with Tomcat
8. Using Blobs
9. Using Multi-Byte Character sets
9. Reporting Bugs
10. Obtaining Sources from SourceForge using CVS
11. Participating in the Development Project
12. Where to get help
13. Joining the Mailing List
14. Known Bugs
15. Contents of the JAR file
16. Additional JAR libraries needed to use the driver
17. Code Examples
18. Methods inplemented in the java.sql Interfaces
a. Driver
b. Statement
c. Prepared Statement
d. ResultSet
19. Common Errors
20. FAQ
