Dear All,
I agree with Blas about refactoring. I remember when I was hunting for
the bug of autocommit one or two month ago, I took me a few days to
follow dependencies. It does not hurt me to put j2ee.jar in classpath,
but when I think of adding modifications to the source then it can be
quite hard.
When I was talking about encoding with Roman, I always checked the
source mysql and postgres driver to see how they work. Of course, I
don't want to hurt anyone who spent many days on the development, but
their source code was much cleaner. I know that both of them come from
much older projects and they have been already refactorized, but IMHO
it won't hurt the current driver, especially if Blas helps :))) since
in the future it will be easier to add new features...
BTW, Roman, soon I will have a little free time, and we may continue
our argue about character encodings :))
Best wishes,
Daniel
