I made some measurements using ntop and compared the statistics of a
interclient session vs a firebirdsql session (insert) and it looks similar.
With firebirdsql, I get about 10% more data transfered, but the whole thing
is much slower.

Tomorrow I will try some more selects while logging traffic.
