I think this downloads something from Borland. Some versions of
interclient from Borland do not work on jdk 1.3 (or presumably jdk 1.4)

It's hard to find documentation for interclient.

You might try the interclient version from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=9028

It is definitely compiled for jdk 1.3 and has some other fixes over the
original Borland version.

You may also want to try Firebird from that site rather than InterBase,
although either should work with this version of interclient
