I recently came across Dashbuilder.org , an open source project that allows you to build interactive Dashboards against  flat files and sql databases.  It does not currently officially support Firebrid, but after some trial and error I was guided by a dev on how to rebuild latest source so it would support Firebird as a datasource.  My initial testing is going well so far.   The only catch is that the repository used by my Dashbuilder install is another open source database not Firebird.  Hopefully the dev's will bake in Firebird support for datasource and possibly more.
