Just to correct something here...

We are not using newsgroups. The Yahoo Groups site provides a forum via the web site and a mailing list. No newsgroup. We have had a newsgroup mirror for the messages but that is not the main site. Why you cannot find the Yahoo Groups forum via a Google search is not something we can easily address.

Now I get your point. It has become rather old fashioned to continue to use a mailing list. Perhaps that reflects the habits of the many old timers who participate here. 

The question I have is: Is it really that important to appeal to a younger, more hip crowd via the communication method they prefer?
