I agree.

Also, wholesale replacement of a logo should almost never be done.

But sometimes an update is very helpful. The last revision of the
Firebird logo was a huge improvement and I think most everyone
appreciated it.

Another good example is the retro Mozilla monster which has largely been
replaced with separate project/product logos. It looked so childish.
