our sales manager has been asked for some names of big companies using
Firebird.

We are based in Australia. i think the main reasoning here is that
some folk haven't heard of Firebird, so initially they are skeptical
when he is doing a presentation.

I've worked with Interbase and Firebird for ages now. So I know what
an excellent database it is. We just need some names to drop, to
reassure some prospects. if that is possible at all then it would be
really helpful as we try to push Firebird out to the australian market.
