They are sometimes sent to firebird-devel - if they are trying to report a bug in a beta. That's because it ensures that the core devs will be alerted to the problems.

Otherwise - if it is because they are stuck on trying to test a new features - they are directed to read the intro to the release notes. From Dmitry's response in this this thread, though, it seems he at least doesn't take the firebird-test list...

Now that *you* have finally discovered firebird-test, why couldn't you help out there? ;-)
