Perhaps Embarcadero is not that biased as Borland/CodeGear is/was. There
is already a special version of E/R Studio for Open Source databases
available (at a lower price), which currently supports MySQL and
PostgreSQL. Hopefully they will add "native" support for Firebird in E/R
Studio in the future. E/R Studio is IMHO a very nice product. I'm using
it quite a lot with Oracle these days. The compare/merge and autolayout
feature is outstanding. Very, very nice for documentation via
reverse-engineering of an existing database.
