Subject Borland 2005 annual report

The borland's 2005 annual report is out. Interesting reading,
especially when compared and contrasted with the report form last
year:

The 2004 report has license sales numbers for the "Develop" division
for 2002-2004. The 2005 report has total sales numbers for the
proposed "DevCo" (mainly develop) for 2004 and 2005:

2005 84

The difference for 2004 must be services rendered by "Develop" and
Interbase, which was moved from "Deploy" to "Develop", probably about
20 & 10.

If we assume that the 33 was also in the pro forma 2002 "DevCo"
sales, the company has shrunk from $187 mln to $84 mln in four years
time, i.e. a 55% decline. Shrinkage from 2004 to 2005 was 37%. That
is an amazing slide.

DevCo needs an exciting roadmap quickly. The current (public) roadmap
for Interbase looks somewhat unexciting, to say the least:
