Fyracle and Oracle

Paul Beach, a leading light in the Firebird Open Source project and an
occasional correspondent, wrote to me chiding me about my "Oracle to
Ingres Migration" piece claiming, quite correctly, that Firebird was the
first Open Source database to offer a doorway out of Oracle license fees
