"Simple" may have a negative connotation in many minds?
Simple = easy = uncomplicated = low level? Not in the same league as Oracle,
MS SQL etc. I am talking about the outsider's perception here.

Otherwise: I LIKE IT!

What do we want to focus on: SQL, SQL Backend, Data, Database, Data
Management, Data Integrity, Security, Ease of use?

Suggestions:
Firebird: Reliable, Powerful, Solid, and FREE.

Firebird: Reliable SQL!

Firebird: Your Data Vault!

Firebird: Like a Rock!

Firebird: Solid as a Rock!

Firebird: Solid SQL! - (That's the one! I will print this on my T-Shirts -
will you?)

I agree. It's not a legend. It hasn't decisively won a major competition. It
hasn't been chosen by a signficant fraction of "enterprises". Making claims
we can't support will rub off on people's perception of the product itself.

How about a simple statement of Firebird's primary benefits, like

"Firebird: Reliable, Powerful, Simple, and FREE."

Even if one likes "the legend", it still has the problem that it is
not credible, IMHO.
