Joining the threads of recent Wikipedia mishap (24h10m to recover from
a short power blockout due to corrupted MySQL database) and the low
public visibility of Firebird, wouldn't it be a priceless publicity
stunt to win this customer?
Of course, beside being priceless, it would cost massive efforts and
perhaps some money from the Foundation to hire someone to guide the
transition.
Has anyone evaluated the technical possibility of this? The whole
Wikipedia database dumps (170GB) are free for download for someone at
a big pipe.
