I'd guess he was in a hurry and collected what he could find from
various sources. It puzzles me a bit that he didn't check what he
wrote himself, alarm bells should have sounded when he wrote that we
were established in 1984 and the current version was 1.5.3! Even for a
'very mature database' with release cycles like Firebird, that is
simply too slow a progress.
