Subject Re: Where is Firebird 2.0 announcement?

Hi Marcello!

Admittedly, I did like the information about latest releases on
www.postgresql.org. Though, like us, they just put stable releases up
there, the beta for 8.1 is a different link.

I think a newcomer should start with a stable release, i.e. Firebird
1.5 (or Firebird 1.0). Firebird 2.0 is in alpha state (hopefully soon
to be beta). Newbies have to start by learning the basics, and there
is no place for newbie questions for experimental versions
(firebird-support is currently Firebird 1.5 or older and
firebird-devel or similar is not for newbies).

It did take me a couple of clicks to get to Firebird 1.0.3, but it
wasn't too difficult. And 2.0 is also just a couple of clicks away.

Though my 0.02 kr is less worth than your euro,
Set
