Once you know about Firebird then searches give a lot of good
information. It would be nice if 'sql database' and 'RDBMS database'
gave some links with firebird in, but getting that will be almost
impossible.

It's the same problem as windows and linux - even free software that is
better can't compete - but things are changing so we need to be in the
right place when the switch comes.

Not sure that we need any more forums, there are a number of non-English
sites that promote Firebird very well and a good core user base, so
anything to just promote the word and get people into the existing sites.

THAT is the main problem, but more and more I am seeing people getting
fed up with MySQL and switching - to postgeSQL - we need to be squeezing
in between ;) Or getting more ISP's to include Firebird as a database
option - which is another up hill struggle.
