There is a firebird 1.5 freebsd port but it needs some
work IMHO. It compiles with tons of warnings and only
really works cleanly on 4.8+ systems.
I ended up deploying on windows XP! I didn't feel that the
FreeBSD version was 'quite there' yet, and I'm an ugly
FreeBSD zealot!
