I've spent about $1700 on technical texts, IT books, but that was a
while ago. For the past 2 years, I haven't seen a book that I thought
was worth buying -- that wasn't for lack of trying I've browsed about
$22,000 dollars worth of them at bookshops and libraries. The one to
break the drought was "The Firebird Book" by Helen Borrie. It's a
first rate text about a fantastic/proven but little known bit of
technology. I'm still very pissed off, because there is still lots of
junk to learn and frustration to endure before Firebird does what I
want it to (hence the book) but I can't be mad with Helen Borrie, it
is an excellent book.
