Can anyone tell me if ZeBeDee is the only way to secure TCP/IP
client-server communications for FB?

Can the standard FB client do secure communications?

I found an earlier post about this matter, pointing to a
NewZealand website, but the site is old, has broken links and
doesn't inspire confidence.

By secure I mean something like SSL or some other cryptographically
secure method?
