IB LogManager may be set up so that you can use it to recreate data from
the last backup until the point of failure if something goes very wrong.

There are several replication possibilities, including components in IBO
(works only with Delphi, Borland C++ Builder and Kylix(?) and handles only
one way replication) and IB Replicator (which I think supports two-way
replication).

I read today that comparing mySQL to Firebird was like comparing dBase III
to Oracle. I'd say that's a slight exaggeration, but mySQL isn't a proper
client/server database like Firebird.
