Hi
What is your opinions on implementing PAM as a way to authenticate users in
the Linux version of FB.
See www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/ for more information.
I dont know how "freestanding" the authentication of users in the "isc4.gdb"
is. The "independance" of this authentication will probably make the
implementation of PAM authentication much easier.
I am also not sure whether PAM will replace or add to the functionality of
hosts.equiv or .rhosts files. I am not sure how they interrelate. The
support that FB have for these files would probably need to go through PAM
if one were to implement it, unless I am understanding it completely wrong.
