Ed,

There is a difference between admitting my software isn't 100% perfectly
free of bugs and accepting the characterization of "buggy, buggy, buggy"
which you gave it, among other derogatory innuendo.

I'm neither attacking you or supporting what you said. I'm just clearing the
air of politically charged trash talk and trying to get you to render up the
technical value which should be substantiating your claims.

Everything of a critical nature I ever said about IBX I substantiated if not
on the spot then to anyone who asked me to follow up with it. I also frankly
tell people when IBX may fulfill their needs better than IBO, like for a
while IBX's MIDAS support was a little better than IBO's due to some things
I had a hard time figuring out.

I have always appreciated anything people say about IBO for good or bad if
there is technical value to it. That kind of information is of use to
everyone. In fact, over dinner John Kaster and I had a good chuckle because
he acknowledged I was helping a lot to make IBX a better product by my
critical, and well substantiated, remarks. My response was, what is good for
InterBase in general is good for me too, so be it.

If you are not willing to technically substantiate your claims, keep your
political trash talk to yourself. I've heard enough of it and I think the
community has too.

Jason Wharton
