Dear Ms Biggs,
I just finished reading your article in the 09.23.02 issue of Infoworld
titled "Finding an Opening". I am curious why there was no mention of
Firebird (formerly InterBase see http://firebird.sourceforge.net) in the
open source database comparison. Firebird seems to be almost completely
ignored by the press and is certainly very capable in a wide array of
situations. The Firebird community is broad-based, energetic, and
enthusiastic. Firebird is continually developed and enhanced.
I am writing not to criticize the omission but out of pure curiosity as to
the nature of Firebird omissions in such comparisons.
thanks
