I agree. So maybe it's not really a slogan I'm after. Probably you're
right it's better not to mention InterBase in document headers and
titles. But I think in a product description the relationship between
the two should be mentioned.
Borland has released the product open source as a gesture in favour
of their existing InterBase users. I think Firebird should carry this
spirit forward and mention its Borland origin, to show that the
compatibility with Borland development tools is maintained.
On the website the word InterBase will inevitably appear and it's one
role of the site to be educative and explain the relationship between
the two.
So, to explain this relationship in a short sentence, which is best:
Firebird is the independent open source
a) descendant of InterBase
b) daughter of InterBase
c) twin of InterBase
d) sister of InterBase
