I would like to announce that first beta of Gemini InterBase ODBC Driver
version 2 is available for download on http://www.geocities.com/ibdatabase/.

Version 2 has different driver DLL file name (ibgem20.dll) and registration
name and will function independently from previous stable 1.x versions.
Major changes from version 1.x:

-- ODBC 3.51 conformance;
-- Full support for stored procedures execution;
-- Scrollable read-only static client-side cursors;
-- Improved transactions handling which makes possible to use Interbase API
autocommit mode, that improves performance in autocommit mode;
-- Performance overhead over raw Interbase API decreased approx. by 50% on
data transfer operations (fetches, etc) due to extensive optimization and
source code profiling.
-- Linux version (available soon);

That beta has expiry date of 1/05/2001.
