I suspect this debate is going to run on for a while yet.

If the current management continues at Inprise then forking will be inevitable.
They have shown themselves to be completely untrustworthy and that makes them a
commercial liability. You can't do business with people who don't keep their
word.

If the senior management changes (and that means just about the all of them
leaving) then it may be possible to believe Inprise again. However, they are no
longer the Borland that we are all so attached to.

Bottom-line for me is that I am increasingly finding it hard to be associated
with any product that is related to Inprise. I can't put my heart and soul into
InterBase like I used to. I'm all for forking and forking soon. However, it
needs to be handled properly. (ie, we fork once and once only. Multiple sons and
daughters of InterBase would not be fun.)
