During the opening keynote, Dale Fuller was asked when IB would go open
source and he responded that they are very close and to give him "just two
weeks". He said they've got the CDs ready to go but there's something like
a dozen documents that they still need to make small tweaks to (both from
Borland and Interbase Corp). My opinion was that he was sincere but when
there's lawyers involved who knows.
Other interesting things that were shown:
- Delphi interfacing with an EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) scheduled for
release early next year
- JBuilder running on an IMac under OS X
- The Kylix IDE (with components on the palette)
