Subject Re: Full-Text search?

Thanks everyone who responded to my query. I will definitely check Rubicon,
UDMSearch and

>But then there is also dtSearch and BRSSeach
Well, Dataware is pretty much dropping BRS/Search and that's the reason why
we are looking at other solutions.

Well, firstly, full-text search involves much more functionality (for
example, "Harrison NEAR5 Starkey" - meaning not further than 5 words apart).
Secondly, even if CONTAINING gives the functionality, but is it workable for
large amounts of full text?

Since *this* list didn't even exist a year ago I would humbply ask anyone
who has the copy of that message to forward it to me.

Well, I wasn't clear. We are not looking for a Linux solution specifically,
we would be 99% satisfied with Windows-only solution as well. My point was
that a lot of people are using FREE tools such as Linux/Apache/Perl and now
InterBase; since we are not the only one who needs full text search engine,
I will be surprised if there is nothing going on in open source world.
