During our testing we found the following problem with IBConsole....

I found that backup and restore doesn't work with ibconsole and unix
systems. It doesn't like the filename entries. It works with NT, but
not with solaris or linux. I'm not sure if ibconsole is looking at the
filename in a windows-like mentality, but it complains if I enter a path
such as /tmp/emp.gbk. Not surprisingly, though, if I try to restore a
file on a linux machine with the path d:/ibtmp/emp.gbk it created a file
in /tmp called...

You guessed it:

d:/ibtmp/emp.gbk>>

Apologies, but this will get fixed - use the command line gbak to backup and
restore the file
