for over a year that I believe will strike a nice balance on this issue.
The main objective I see here is finding a way that all of the InterBase
VAR's that have built up a business around selling InterBase itself (not as
an embedded part of a larger product) will not get the rug pulled out from
under them. I would prefer to see a model that preserves all the benefits of
free open source to the developers while at the same time putting the VAR's
in a position to continue making money promoting and distributing InterBase.
I believe I have the answer to this dilema and will share it with you for
your input, etc. as soon as I get things ready. It's still a little rough
right now...
