One item I would dearly love to see in IB is encryption at the server
level. Currently you can load a gdb into a text editor and view the text
therein. I know you could write a UDF but that would make for messy
queries - the solution IMHO is for IB to encrypt data prior to writing
it to disk and decrypting as soon as data is read from the disk.

You can encrypt Access and Paradox tables, I feel IB should sport this
feature too.

On a different note, I don't know what tasks there will be, nor what I
would be suited for but I have 11 years experience as a developer, a few
years under my belt variously as senior developer/programming
manager/technical director, HTML, an enthusiasm for Delphi and Interbase
(I'm also involved with JEDI).

We certainly could use a "plan"...

Subject: [IBDI] Good Use of Time

Hello All,

Weird and (I hope) wonderful times ahead...

I would like to suggest that in the short-term a good use of our time
may be the ratification of a master wish-list of future requirements.
