The program was called "marion" (from marion the librarian...).

It was great for
- Keeping differences
- exclusive checkout
- history investigation (when was this change made that introduced a
bug, etc)
- Automated changes between platforms (include pathways, etc)

It was poor for
- Backing out of a change
- Multiple people needing to change the same file.
- No automatic "merge" capability.
- Keeping a stable, isolated development environment (like clearcase
will do)

I recommend moving to a PVCS like system.

The were some projects that used PVCS and marion together - (marion
was the backing store for PVCS files) - which was useful.
