Thanks for all the answers. Let's see if I got this right:
Q: Is there any any functionality that isn't exposed through the fbclient API (requiring direct network access to server) ?
A: No.
Q: Are there platforms on which fbclient doesn't compile or run, but on which java and python run?
A: No (?)
It both questions get a clear No, then I can continue my fbclient binding, because the other issues don't affect me. Otherwise, I may have to think about going over the wire too. Any doc. about the network protocol?
