libdbi, as suggested in the part of the message you haven't quoted, is
plain C, and from a quick glance it looks decent to me. What I don't
understand is why people can't just use what they need instead of
expecting the Firebird Project to endorse it all and make it
"official". Looks like a waste of resources to me.
