Our first "big disk" was around a 150 MB 8" drive for a couple of
thousand dollars. The DEC HSC controller did striping and shadowing,
but only on R80 and R81 drives -- 14" mini-Winnies that cost about
twenty grand a pop plus another $100K (?) for the HSC. RAD, perhaps,
but definitely not RAID.
