the current XML usage is far from it. From numerous (web)
sources you can read that parsing XML is slowish and people
start building own xml parsers that always expect a certain
xml format etc etc...

Anyway, it's hyped, not overly useful and, imo, should not
be put inside the engine in anyway. As an add-on, perhaps
true, and as functions to parse/handle xml like thingies,
yes. But please, not in the engine - what if another format
is being hyped?!
