Did you use the correct file? Use "hosts" (no extension!), not "hosts.sam"
or such like. If you used Notepad, you could easily have gotten a ".txt"
extension on the file (which isn't necessarily shown in Explorer).
Unless you can ping by name, the definition has not been successful.
