I tried some days ago with both IB_WISQL (Jason's free utility) and isql
(the command-line utility) and they didn't work in a real local connection
in NT. However, immediately after I added
localhost:
to create a TCP/IP connection string, it worked against any db on my system.
Both tools don't uppercase the user.
