Ummm basically no..

I assume its the mers cvs repositry that you are going for.

The CVS stuff in the tar.gz files are from internal interbase setup so a
little different.

If you are going to use a cvs repositry it's best to do a checkout from
that repositry as a base point.

Once however you have done a checkout

CVSROOT= ....
$cvs logon

$cvs checkout


Then you can tar gzip it and move it arround. For example you can
download it at work (with high bandwidth) then take it home on your
laptop - don't leave it at the station though.

How serious are the changes that you are making - there are some trendy
diff tools for helping do merges ?
