It's an interesting idea. The first thing you would lose of course is the
multi platform support. Maybe when klyx comes out you could support two
platforms but that's all. Also you would have to translate every patch and
enhancement submitted to the original IB. It seems like a lot of work and
for not much of a gain. If you really want to help and contribute perhaps
you can work on ibconsole which I understand is written in delphi and start
making that better or write some support tools like a data transformation
tool or a data warehouse tool. I would love to see an easier way to move
delimeted files into and out of IB.

The fact that IB plays nice with Delphi is a great asset. One of the few
projects that you can join and make a difference without knowing C.
