Frankly, I don't see how a new database project could replace InterBase as
on OpenSource database.
InterBase comes with an existing reference clientel and IMHO it is very
usable implementation of a relational dbms, (I've enjoyed working with it
since I discovered it in 1994/95 when it came packaged with Delphi 1 Beta).
A new database project may be useful in its own way. But certainly not as a
replacement for InterBase OpenSourced.
