Or just jump on the postgres/mysql bandwagon. COntribute to an already
existing and widely popular database. Postgres badly needs to have the ODBC
driver rewritten as well as needing client side tools especially windows
versions. mysql needs stored procedure support and transactions. Maybe
somebody can do comparison of the versioning between postgres and interbase
or port the optimizer from postgres to interbase or even take a look at how
they do COALESE, LIMIT, NULLIF etc. Ok Ok I know that the basic
architecture of the two databases is vastly different and none of this is
actually practical but it's better to contribute to an existing and robust
project then to start another one.
