BLB_get_segment, BLB_put_segment, and BLB_seek care, but that's about it.
Certainly nobody worries about segment boundaries when storing a blob.
A precious header bit is used to identify which is which (don't get
Ann started on overloading. She think it's a bad habit left over from
too much time spent cramming software into PDP-11s. A bit wasted is
no big deal, says Ann.
