Having used paradox via networked access, i can give a definitive yes.
using windows file sharing semantics accross the network, increased query
times between 2 to 10x local access.
whereas under interbase, query times *rarely* exceed 2x local access. it all
has to do with networked based table have to read the whole table, but
queries of a networked server only have to read the result.
