Confirm these two points:
Set the Database property to a valid database.
Set the DatabaseName property to some kind of a friendly name for reference
purposes only.

Subject: [IBO] Runtime Error, Blank Database Name
My app has been programed to perform SQL queries using tIBOQuery,
tDataSource and a TIB_Connection components. Object inspection confirms a
valid database name for both the tIBOQuery and tIB_Connection (the defined
alias for my database).
On calling the 'Open' method, an error is returned: "Project has raised
exception class EIB_ConnectionError with message 'DatabaseName cannot be
blank'".
Can someone please show me what is missing here.
Best,
