Are you using pessimistic locking?
Are you using AutoCommit set to true?

Subject: [IBO] Dataset.Cancel during update query keeps record locked
When a user wants to cancel a record update of a dataset, our application
calls the Dataset.Cancel.
But by doing so, the record remains locked.
What's the right way to implement this functionality?
